The UniSport spring season is here!

3/1/2024 - 15:00
The UniSport spring season kicked off on 2nd January and once again there is a wide range of sporting experiences on offer! Feel free to try out different types of exercise, book yourself a pampering massage or take your workout to the next level with a Personal Trainer. UniSport's spring season is full of opportunities, so come and try it out - you might get excited and find your favourite!

1. New in group exercise: fitness boxing and LES MILLS DANCE™

The popular fitness boxing returns to UniSport's group exercise selection when classes start again in Kumpula. You can be sure of some sweaty and fun boxing sessions! The class is suitable for everyone who needs an effective workout. The class will include training in a couple's gloves and fitness circuit, among other things. You can find fitness boxing classes in the Kumpula booking calendar.

UniSport's dance offer will be renewed in February, when the SH'BAM™ class will be replaced by LES MILLS DANCE™. LES MILLS DANCE™ is an intense dance workout that challenges and gets the body moving. This class is for all dance lovers, whether you are a beginner or a more experienced dancer. Read more about the new dance class here.

The University staff classes piloted in the autumn will continue to be offered in the spring season and will now be extended to UniSport Kumpula. For the University staff's own classes and timetables, see the booking calendar.

2. New in the gym: gym training workshops

New for spring, we offer gym-goers inspiring workshops led by Personal Trainers! Starting in February, Meilahti gym will be hosting two-hour workshops on different topics. The workshops, led by professional trainers, will focus on topics such as chin-up variations, squats and deadlift. Participation is possible with a training card. More information on the topics and schedules of the workshops will be published during January.

3. A wide range of courses this spring

Registration for UniSport spring sports courses is now open. Act fast as places are limited! The courses will give you the chance to discover new forms of exercise with a familiar instructor and group, inspire you to get moving and perhaps find a new hobby at the same time.

The spring programme includes courses ranging from volleyball to barebell techniques. To start your gym workout, we recommend a Gym Start, where you'll learn the right techniques and how to use the equipment for a safe workout. Take a look at the courses on offer and book your place!

4. Refreshing break exercise sessions

Do you forget to take breaks during a busy day at work or school? UniSport organises Carefree Shoulders break exercise sessions open and free of charge for university students and staff on campus and remotely. We added sessions in Viikki and Otaniemi to the spring schedule. See the Carefree Shoulders schedule here and join us for a stretching break. We guarantee that your day will go on more refreshed!
