General Terms of use

By registering as a customer, you agree to the UniSport Terms of Service. The terms of service tell you about the responsibilities of UniSport, the service provider, and about the customer's rights and obligations. Please read the terms carefully.

1. Use of services

  • Registration: The use, booking and payment of services requires registration. Online services also require registration with the Technogym application.
  • Use of services and access rights: An access card or PIN code from the customer service is required to visit the sports centres and use the services.
  • Personal right to use: The right to use a service or product is personal and service specific. An access card or PIN code, for example, may not be handed over to others.
  • Age limitations: Children under 15 years of age can use the services with an adult or a responsible person appointed by the club/school. The minimum age for a gym or exercise class is 12 years.
  • Lockers and equipment rental and loan: Customers' own locks are used in the lockers. Equipment rental or loan is not available during self-service hours.

2. Registering as a customer

  • Registration: The use, booking and payment of services requires registration. You can register online, at a customer service point or by phone. By registering in the customer system, the customer accepts these terms and conditions.
    • Registration ID: Students and personnel of institutions covered by the HAKA identification system use the domain name granted by the institution, while others use a valid email address.
  • Discount groups: The right to a discount can be proven by HAKA identification or by presenting the relevant certificates at a customer service point. The valid prices for discount groups can be found in the price list.
  • Data collection: The data referred to in the privacy statement is collected from customers for the purpose of managing and developing the customer relationship. In addition, the data is collected to enable the booking and use of services.
  • Technogym application: To use the online services, you must activate the Technogym application. The application is subject to a separate privacy statement and terms of use that the customer accepts when activating the user account.

3. Discounts and subsidised prices

  • Discount criteria: Certificates entitling to a discount are listed on the UniSport website. The grounds for the discount must always be presented when purchasing services. If the certificate entitling the holder to a reduced or subsidised price does not include a photograph, the identity must also be verified by means of a photo ID.
  • Court and hall reservations: The discounted price requires that all participants are part of the eligible customer group. The condition does not apply to badminton partners.

4. Customer responsibilities: What do we expect from you?

  • Health and insurance: The customer must be in good health when using the services and, if necessary, obtain insurance cover. Fitness training and exercising always involve risks and benefits. You should not train harder than what is safe based on your estimated skill level. You should seek advice from an expert if you have a general health impediment or medical condition that may affect your ability to train safely.
  • Sign in: Remember to sign in for the service at the validation device or customer service. If you do not check in or use the service you have booked, your access rights will be locked until you have paid the service or reactivation fee or presented a proof of reason for absence in accordance with the terms and conditions.
  • Payment: Pay for the service before using it. For unpaid services, we will send the customer an invoice and charge the valid invoicing fee for paper invoices.
  • Be on time and reserve time for changing clothes. You cannot participate in group exercise classes, for example, if you are late.
  • Safety and cleanliness: Only bring essential items, such as towels, drinking bottles, valuables and the equipment you need in your training, to the gym and group exercise classes. Large gym bags and outdoor clothes must be stored in the dressing room. During your visit, store your belongings in a locker and lock it with your own padlock. The lockers are not intended for long-term storage; if we must break the lock in case of misuse, a service fee is charged to the customer in connection with picking up the belongings. UniSport is not responsible for belongings left on the premises.
  • Prohibited substances: The use of performance enhancers, alcohol or drugs in our facilities and services is strictly prohibited.
  • Behaviour: Be considerate of other people using the facilities. Follow the rules and instructions related to safe training, UniSport's training etiquette and the "Principles of a safer space". Use a workout towel and clean indoor shoes or socks. Clean the equipment after use. Prove your identity on request.
  • Keep your contact details up to date so that we can reach you if necessary.

5. UniSport's responsibilities: What can you expect from us?

  • Quality of services: We offer you diverse, high-quality sports services that promote well-being. We ensure that the exercise facilities are in proper condition and safe to use. You have the opportunity to ask for advice or instructions on how to practice safely. We train customer service personnel at the centres in safety and first aid matters.
  • Communication: We provide information on exceptional opening hours (e.g. holidays) and other changes in the sports centres and on our website.
  • UniSport is not liable for any personal injury or property damage unless the damage is caused by negligence on UniSport's part.

6. Reservation and cancellation of services

  • Reservation: Registered customers can book services online or at a customer service point. The Mywellness application is required to use the online services. The services can be used without reservation if there is room.
  • Cancellation of services by the customer: The customer may cancel the services they have booked within the service-specific cancellation period. A prepaid service cannot be cancelled online. If cancellation is not possible online, please contact the customer service. If the reservation has not been cancelled within the stated period, the customer is obliged to pay for the service regardless of whether they use it.
  • Cancellation of services by UniSport: We will notify customers personally of any cancellations and changes to the services. When a course instructor or massager becomes ill, UniSport does not seek a replacement service provider for these services.
  • Queueing: If a course, group exercise class or ball game group is full, you can register for a place in the queue. You are notified by e-mail if a place becomes available. 7. Refunds for services

  • Being late for services: The service fee will not be refunded if the customer is late for the service. In personal services, such as massages, the customer can use the remaining service time if there is enough time to implement the service.
  • When the customer cancels the service: After the free cancellation period, you can be exempted from the obligation to pay by presenting a certificate from a physician or nurse certifying that you are unable to use the service. This does not apply to course-based service packages.
  • Refunds for services due to an exercise ban: An unused single visit due to an exercise ban may be refunded against a certificate from a physician or nurse. Any unused time due to illness is compensated by extending the validity of the 10-visit card or membership in accordance with the period indicated in the certificate. The minimum period for extending the validity is two weeks, and the certificate must cover the entire compensation period. If the customer can demonstrate a particularly compelling reason, such as an illness that makes it unreasonable to complete the contract period, the unused time will be refunded to the customer in full for the period during which the customer is unable to use the services. The customer must apply for a refund following the instructions on our website or at a customer service point. Refund requests must be submitted no later than 12 months after the date of purchase of the product.
  • Transfer of service life (freezing): Membership, online membership and 10-visit card can be frozen due to a temporary move, military or non-military service or pregnancy. In addition, those in customer groups Preferred customer and Normal price can freeze a normal-prized 12-month membership for one (1) month without a separate reason (does not apply to student and staff customer groups). The freezing request must be made in writing before the start of the freezing period. Retrospective freezes are not refunded. The customer must submit the freezing request and a written certificate of the above-mentioned grounds for freezing to the customer service. The minimum freezing period is four weeks, and the certificate must cover the entire freezing period. The maximum freezing period is determined by the time indicated on the certificate (however, no more than 12 months). Freezing is free of charge, but a reactivation fee is charged for changes to the freezing period. During freezing, the right to use and book services is locked.
  • When UniSport cancels the service: Services paid for by the customer are refunded in full or in part when UniSport cancels the service. In course-based services, UniSport refunds the share of the cancelled services in the course package. Refunds can be made to the customer balance or to the payment method used for the original purchase, excluding sports and well-being benefits. The customer balance is valid for 12 months. Refunds to a bank account are processed in 14–21 days.
  • Refunds for sports and well-being benefits: In accordance with the tax legislation, products purchased with benefits are not refunded to a bank account but only to the customer balance. Sports benefits refunded to the customer balance can only be used to pay for sports services and well-being benefits to pay for the massage service.

8. Penalties in cases of abuse

  • A separate service fee is charged for the following services in accordance with the valid price list:
    • Creating a single-use PIN for a forgotten access card
    • Reactivating a right to use when it has been locked due to an unused or uncancelled service
    • Extending the validity of a 10-visit card
    • Making changes to a freezing period
    • Opening a door or locker during the self-service hours of the sports centre
    • Forcing a locker open when the locker is reserved for long-term storage of belongings (e.g. overnight)
  • Misuse: Lending a personal access right or allowing a third party to enter the premises will result in a penalty of €250. Misuse may also result in the loss of the paid personal access right and a temporary ban on the use of services. We will notify the police of any serious or repeated misconduct.
  • Ban on the use of services: Personal access rights may be revoked if the customer behaves in a disturbing or inappropriate manner or in a way that endangers their own health and safety or those of others. The customer is liable for any intentional damage to premises, equipment or property.
