Construction work is currently underway, and the Viikki sports center is expected to be completed in September-October 2026. The center will be located in the E Building (Latokartanonkaari 3) and will offer versatile opportunities for exercise and wellbeing for the university community once it opens.

The new sports center on the Viikki campus will serve both university students and staff, providing even more comprehensive opportunities to stay active as part of everyday life. The sports center will offer, among other things:

• modern gym training facilities
• a wide range of group exercise classes
• massage and other wellbeing services
• personal training services and coaching

Planning for the Viikki sports center has been ongoing for a long time, and the opening is eagerly anticipated:

“It’s great that we can bring such versatile sports services to the Viikki campus. The new sports center will serve the entire university community and support wellbeing in everyday life,” says Sports Director Mika Suikki.

A history wall will also be created in the new UniSport sports center in Viikki. The wall will be illustrated by a student from a relevant field at one of the owner universities. The aim of the history wall is to showcase UniSport’s long and significant role in university sports. The search for the illustrator will open soon on UniSport’s website.
