The InBody body composition measurement gives you valid information about the quantity and segmentation of muscle, bone and fat tissue in your body and about your basal metabolic rate. The measurement motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including sufficient exercise and a well-balanced diet.

Book a self-service InBody measurement
- This service is available for members of the University.
- The popular InBody measurements at UniSport are made by accurate and versatile InBody580 device in our Kluuvi, Kumpula and Otaniemi sports centers.
- You can choose between a measurement conducted by a trainer including feedback or a self-service measurement.
- Always try to take follow-up measurements in similar conditions, regarding e.g. nutrition, time of the day and menstrual circle.
InBody measurement with a trainer and feedback
- Measurement can be booked from the customer service desk or via the online calendar. The analysis is conducted by a trainer. You will receive a printed report, which the trainer will interpret with you. The trainer will also provide you with personal feedback and advice based on the report.
- The measurement and the feedback session take 15 minutes.
- It is recommended that you take the first body composition analysis with a trainer. This shows you how the device works and how to analyse the report in the future.
Self-service InBody measurement
- The self-service measurement is carried out independently with an advance booking, without an instructor present.
- Book your measurement at the customer service desk or through the online calendar on our website.
- Read the device instructions before the measurement and wipe the device after use. The instructions can be found near the device and at the bottom of this page.
How to prepare for the measurement
It is not recommended to do the measurement if you are pregnant or have a pacemaker.
- Visit the bathroom before the measurement
- Avoid eating and drinking at least two hours before the measurement
- Dress lightly and take off eventual jewelry, including rings
- Avoid intense exercise before the measurement.

How to take a self-service measurement
The device’s instructions and printed results are in Finnish. For results in English, use the InBody app.
- Pay for your booked measurement at the customer service desk or online before starting.
- Download the free InBody app from your app store to get more detailed results and track your measurements.
- Make sure the InBody device and printer are switched on, then unlock the device with the PIN code from your booking confirmation.
- Prepare for the measurement: wear as light clothing as possible, remove rings and measure barefoot. Keep your phone nearby for scanning your results.
- Clean the device by spraying cleaning solution onto a paper towel and wiping the electrodes on the handles and scale.
- Step onto the scale barefoot with your heels on the rear electrodes and toes on the front electrodes. Make sure your trouser legs are not between your feet and the electrodes.
- Wait for your weight to be measured until the reading appears on the screen.
- Select “Vierasmittaus” and enter your height, age and gender.
- Start the measurement and follow the instructions on the screen. Stand still until the measurement is complete.
- Stay on the device and select “Lähetä tulokset”. Scan the QR code with the InBody app and follow the instructions to save your results. NOTE! The QR code disappears if you step off the device before scanning it. For a printed copy, select “Tulosta tulokset”. The device memory is cleared regularly, so previous results are not stored.
