Cardio equipment being renewed at gyms

UniSport’s gyms will receive new cardio equipment at the end of August. As part of the renewal, new equipment will be introduced at the Kluuvi and Töölö gyms to provide more versatile training options.

The following equipment will be renewed at the Kluuvi gym:

  • Stair climbers and some of the elliptical cross-trainers
  • Curved treadmills
  • Recumbent and handcycle bikes
  • Spinning bikes in the gym and indoor cycling studio

The cross-trainers at the Töölö gym will also be replaced with new ones.

Wattbikes will be removed from UniSport’s equipment selection as they have reached the end of their service life, while maintenance and spare part costs have also increased significantly. The Wattbikes and the current spinning bikes in the gyms will be replaced with BodyBike spinning bikes featuring the familiar 3-in-1 pedals used on Wattbikes.

With the new BodyBike bikes, the spinning bikes will be standardized across UniSport’s sports centres. In the future, the same Body Bike app can be used with all the bikes. The app allows you to connect your phone to the bike and track your workout data.
