The renovation of the roof beams in the Otahalli Ball sports hall and Multi-purpose Hall will begin in early May and is estimated to last from 1 May to 15 October 2024. During the renovation, ball game activities and massage in Otahalli will be paused. Gym training and group exercise classes will continue during the renovation due to the facility changes. The changes will take place at the beginning of May, when Otahallli will be closed from 1-3 May. Group exercise classes will continue in Aalto studio from 4 May and the new gym area will open on the first floor of the Otahallli on 6 May.

Impact of the renovation on Otaniemi's facilities and services:

Gym training

• The current gym area will be closed for the duration of the renovation from 1 May. During the renovation, gym training will be made possible by converting the area behind the Aalto gym on the first floor into a gym space. The new gym space will remain available after the renovation in addition to the existing gym, allowing for a total of over 300 m² more space for gym training in Otaniemi.
• The new gym on the first floor will be available from Monday 6 May. 

Group exercise

• Group exercise classes will be held in the Aalto studio. Indoor cycling in Otaniemi will end on 26 April due to a facility change. Indoor cycling at UniSport will continue to be available at Kluuvi. Otherwise, group exercise classes in Otaniemi will be organised according to the timetable.

Ball games

• Ball game activities will be paused as the ball sports hall and multi-purpose hall will be closed during the renovation. Ball sports can be played at UniSport Kumpula during the renovation.

Massage

• Massage services will be paused in April due to the renovations but will return to Otaniemi's service offerings for the autumn season.

Regular practice reservations

• From autumn 2024 onwards, the Westend Indians (Espoo Sports and Floorball Club) will be in charge of regular practice reservations of the UniSport Otaniemi ball sports hall and multi-purpose hall, and enquiries can be sent to toimisto@westendtribe.fi.
